Commonwealth Bank iPhone App for househunters
Date: 27/08/2010
Earlier this month the Commonwealth Bank launched an iPhone App specifically for property buyers which allows an iPhone user to point the phone at a property from the street and access detailed information on that property, including the last sale price.
The App is free and claims to list sales prices on 95% of Australian homes, something that the bank says will deliver more immediate buying and selling information to the public as they are actually viewing properties and give “much greater insight to customers to make smarter business decisions.”
It also includes a mortgage calculator, demographic and pricing information for individual suburbs and links to home loan and house valuation services. Although privacy concerns have been raised, many real estate agents, including John McGrath of McGrath Estate Agents, welcome the new App as being really helpful for buyers.
At Roam we think there is a big future for devices like the iPhone and the iPad in the property marketing industry. No longer will agents have to point buyers back to a website to view information and visualisations - they’ll be able to show buyers on the spot via an iPad or similar device, walking around the property or the construction site.
